The UKPSC Civil Judge Syllabus and exam pattern is especially important to know if a candidate wishes to ace the Civil Judge exam to be conducted by the Uttarakhand Public Service Commission (UKPSC).
The UKPSC Civil Judge exam consists of two stages, the preliminary exam, and the mains exam. To get selected for the post, it is mandatory to score more than the UKPSC Civil Judge cut off marks in both the rounds. The details of the exam pattern of both these stages include:
The paper is separated into two parts, Part 1 and Part 2. The first part consists of questions related to the national as well as the international current affairs that are related to law. This section consists of 50 marks in the exam. The second part consists of questions on the various types of laws and law procedures such as the Evidence Act, Indian Penal Code, Civil Procedure Code, etc. This part consists of 150 marks in the exam.

The mains exam is conducted after the candidate clears the preliminary exam. The candidates must aim to get featured in the UKPSC Civil Judge Merit List in order to get shortlisted for the further rounds. It constitutes 5 papers. Then, a practical exam is conducted to check the candidate’s knowledge of basic computer operation and lastly, a personal interview is held.

Candidates who successfully clear the prelims and the mains rounds proceed to the personal interview stage. It is mandatory for the candidates to score 35% in each law paper and 40% is the aggregate marks that will make them eligible for the interview round. Candidates belonging to certain categories such as SC/ST will have a relaxation of 5%. The interview will be based on their personal profile, experience, knowledge of the present-day problems, and current affairs. The UKPSC Civil Judge personal interview is conducted for a total of 100 marks. Those who will score at least 25% in the interview will be selected for the post
